The Korean Countertenor Sunghoon CHOI first started music by playing a piano at the age of five and also he was in a junior choir as a boy soprano for several years. That experiences naturally led him to keep studying music and eventually made him dream to become a Countertenor. Then he began his studies at Korea National University of Art's (KNUA), where he graduated in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in singing. Moving to France, Sunghoon CHOI enrolled at Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris studying with Fusako Kondo with whom he gained his diploma in musical study (Diplôme de concertiste) during two years. he then did a further study at Centre de musique baroque de Versailles.
He finished his Master degree with Nathalie Stutzmann(conductor/contralto)
On stage, Sunghoon CHOI has sung the roles of Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, Prince Orlofsky in Die fledermaus Oberon in A midsummer Night's Dream Porsenna in opera Costanza e Fortezza He also took part in many other concerts at Chapelle royale du Château de Versailles, Cathédrale Saint-Pierre Genève and Victoria Hall.Riga dome Cathedral LATVIJA
Sunghoon CHOI won the Grand Prix (Prix D'honneur) at Concours International Leopold Bellan, and also in the same year he won the 3rd prize at Concours FLAME in France 2015. he was one of the semi finalist at the Queen Elizabeth Competition Voice 2018 . In 2019 ,3rd prize at Concours internationalde chant de Marmande 2019,
1st prize Concorso internazionale di canto Lirico Maria Amadini and he received a scholarship from the Foundation Hans Wilsdorf-Rolex
